Savings
Savings is the extra money from expenditure. There are several ways to save money. [ but if we invest the money to gold dinar]. But the risk is the gold value can increase or decrease same as if invest it in other comodities. Empirical proof shows that the gold value is stable in the long term investment and free from extreme increasing and decreasing value in short and medium term. Gold is a fair protector sales demand.
Alms (Zakat) Payment
In Islamic law, zakat can only be paid with tangible merchandise, called in Arabic 'ain. It cannot be paid with a promise to pay or a debt, called in Arabic “dayn”. From the Islamic history, zakat is always paid in gold dinar or dirham. During the Othmaniah era, paying zakat using fiat money is not permitted until the last of the caliph(Khalifate)
From the Sheikh Mohammad Alish’s fatwa, if we pay zakat using fiat money, the value of the fiat as the merchandise, that is the value of the paper is counted. The nominal value of the paper is not relevant as zakat payment.
Thus, by the existence of the Kelantan gold dinar, we can pay zakat using gold dinar and silver dirham.
